Basics of Hybrid Design

Course info:
In this course the basic knowledge of3D wire model geometry and surface construction is taught. The areas of associative and non-associative surface construction are covered. Modification and analysis tools are explored and put into practice . Likewise, more complex methods of construction – surface modeling and hybrid modelling are explained.
The course is split into two parts. The theoretical part explains the basics through simple examples. The second part is hands-on where participants can try out their new knowledge and progress at their own pace.

Wire frame geometry and regelflächen????
• The user interface of V5 in relation to surface construction
• Functions of the wiremodel creation and modifying
• Construction of regelgeomtry???????
• Hybrid modelling
• Analysis of single elements
• Working with templates (power copies)

Themes covered:
Tools, graphic possibilities, wire models, surfaces, operations, mutliplying, measuring, notes

Freeform geometry:
• comparison regalflächen with given cross-section profile
• Creation of surfaces with an existing profile
• Creation of surfaces with user defined prifile
• Modification of free-form surfaces over surface history
• fillet function
• Analysis in order to out surface quality

Function groups covered:
Choosing, advanced surfaces, rules/limitations, advice, regulations, analysis, material ordering

Necessary: CATIA V5 basic course in mechanical construction
