Basic course for mechanical
Course information
The participants of this course are brought by the philosophy, use and methods for SolidWorks. The focus of the course is on a structured approach to construction, from design sketch through to object group and single parts of a Top-Down methodology. The target is to get a thorough understanding of object structures and to be able to create data models with Solidworks creating references and related models and to create „clean“ models. The professional interaction with the modelling tools and methods should then be advanced in further courses.
• System basics and philosophy of SoldWorks
•Getting to know the most important modules of SolidWorks (group, part and drawing)
• Thorough explaination of the names „Parametric“, „associative“, „Construction element“, „Reference“...
• Construction methods with SolidWorks
• The Sketcher: using and understanding the difference to conventional geometric creations in CAD
• Elementary hand tools: Sketch technique, Definition of related parts, simple construction elements, help functions
• Basics of feature based modelling
• Evaluation of parts for the building of construction philosophy
• Generation of building groups (relationship between parts and building groups)
• Getting to know modify and help functions
• introduction and use of forms and parameters
• Used model: Part design, Building group design, Drawing creation
Necessary: simple PC experience
Duration: 5 days
